Axendit Strengthens Cybersecurity Leadership Through Advanced SIM3 Auditor Certification

From 4th to 6th of August 2026, members of its cybersecurity workforce participated in the Certified SIM3 Auditor Training at Cyber Defense Africa (CDA) in Lomé, Togo, further strengthening the company's ability to deliver internationally aligned cybersecurity services. As part of its public-private partnership with the Lagos State Government, Axendit also facilitated five training slots for representatives of the State, underscoring its commitment to strengthening public-sector cybersecurity capabilities and advancing digital resilience through strategic collaboration. This investment reflects Axendit's belief that building world-class expertise is essential to driving innovation, enhancing the quality of its cybersecurity engagements, and supporting a more secure and resilient digital ecosystem across Nigeria and West Africa. Central to the programme is the Security Incident Management Maturity Model (SIM3), a globally recognised framework for assessing the maturity of Computer Security Incident Response Teams (CSIRTs). The framework evaluates how incident response teams are structured, governed, operated and continuously improved across 45 parameters spanning four core domains. Recognised by leading international organisations, including Open CSIRT Foundation (OCF), FIRST, ENISA, TF-CSIRT and International Telecommunication Union (ITU), SIM3 provides a common standard that enables organisations to evaluate capabilities consistently, strengthen operational effectiveness and foster trusted collaboration across borders. Through the training, participants will gain the expertise to assess incident response teams, identify capability gaps and recommend improvements using internationally accepted best practices. As cyber threats become increasingly sophisticated and digital transformation accelerates across Nigeria and the wider region, this capability is vital to building resilient institutions, enhancing national cyber readiness and ensuring organisations can respond effectively to evolving security challenges.

By developing Nigerian professionals who can apply global standards within local realities, Axendit is also helping to reduce dependence on external expertise.
