Axendit Limited at the Polish-Nigeria Economic Forum 2025
On 11 September 2025, we had the privilege of joining leaders, innovators, and policymakers at the inaugural Polish-Nigeria Economic Forum, hosted at Eko Hotels & Suites, Victoria Island, Lagos. Organized by the Polish Investment & Trade Agency (PAIH) in collaboration with the Embassy of Poland in Nigeria, the forum was more than just a meeting of nations but a lively exchange of ideas and opportunities. From technology and finance to agriculture, energy, and infrastructure, the conversations were filled with possibility, collaboration, and a shared vision for sustainable growth.
This event brought together some of the brightest minds and decision-makers from both countries. Among the dignitaries were: the Governor of Lagos State, Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, the Deputy Governor Kadri Obafemi Hamzat, the Honorable Minister of Industry, Trade and Investment, Mrs Jumoke Oduwole, represented by Mrs Gertrude Orji, Director Investment Promotion, Mr Andrzej Dycha, Chairman of the Board of PAIH and former Ambassador of Poland to Nigeria and Mr Michal Cygan, Ambassador-Designate of the Embassy of Poland in Nigeria. It was mentioned during the event that Poland has recently joined the “Trillionaires Club” of the world’s top 20 economies, with a GDP exceeding $1 trillion, which is also an objective for Nigeria and the speakers exchanged ideas and areas of cooperation which could advance this agenda. They collectively agreed that partnerships between Nigeria and Poland are practical steps towards building stronger economies, greener infrastructure, and digital futures.
For Axendit, this event was about showing what’s possible. Our exhibition booth showcased some of our technology solutions and offerings in software development & integration, cybersecurity & trust services as well as drone services. The conversations we had with business leaders and innovators highlighted just how much appetite there is for fintech, digital transformation, and cross-border trade as we gave valuable insights on business in Nigeria to potential polish investors. Our CEO, Simon Melchior intervened as a panelist on a strategic dialogue on security where he shared his experience and underlined specificities and advantages of a public-private partnership in cybersecurity with a company like Axendit and its polish partner Asseco.
His insights reinforced a central message of the forum: sustainable development requires more than capital. In addition to funding, it demands efficiency and execution in a dynamic and sometimes challenging context. Key Highlights and Takeaways:
- Learning Goes Both Ways: Nigeria’s leaders admired Poland’s digital transformation, while Poland looked to Nigeria’s vast potential as a hub for innovation and infrastructure.
- Opportunities Everywhere: From green energy to digital trade, agriculture to cybersecurity, the space for collaboration is wide open.
- Policy Support Matters: With both federal and state officials present, it was clear that governments are backing cross-border partnerships with policy support, incentives, and collaboration with private innovators.
- Poland and more broadly Europe has innovative funding mechanisms to support digital transformation and structuring, impactful projects and is open to business in a big market like Nigeria.
Axendit’s participation at the Polish-Nigeria Economic Forum 2025 reflects our commitment to building strategic partnerships that unlock value, enable innovation, and drive inclusive economic growth. We’re committed to building bridges that connect people, ideas, and markets from Lagos to Warsaw and beyond. Together with our partners, we’ll continue to shape the future of Nigeria’s digital economy and create opportunities that transcend borders.
